Reflection: Genesis 12

Trusting God

God commanded Abram to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household to a place unknown.  The only thing that was known to Abram is the promise of making him a great nation, the promise of blessings and the promise of a son to be the heir.  Abram obeyed God and travel to the land where God wanted him to be.  His obedience to God’s command to go and leave his country is not the result of the perks that comes with it i.e. making him a great nation, a promise of blessings and son, but rather a result of his undoubting faith and trust to God.Continue reading

Reflection: Genesis 5

After I read Genesis 5 I was overwhelmed with the information I’ve discovered. I knew my root from the very start and I felt proud of it.

There are only three things that I learned from my ancestors; first is family. Each of them had married and has children. They reared their children well into their own likeness, their own image. Like Enoch, after 365 years of living here he was taken by God to walk forever with Him. God was so happy with the way he live his life. Since childhood my father always reminds me to keep the family name clean, that’s what image is all about. Continue reading

Hiding Trash

Hiding Trash

Last week my daughter and I had a walk around the campus.  We saw this white tube

and she was interested about it.  Three years old child had so much questions.  We talked about the color of the tube, what is its purpose and many other things.  She was able to check what is in the tube and to her surprise she found some trash in it.  She said why would someone hide their trash inside?

Literally, trash is dirty.  It should be in the garbage bin or should properly be disposed.  Trash makes the place ugly.  We lost interest of probably most of the things if there are trash in or surrounds it.

Just like trash, sin makes us dirty and the only way to properly dispose it, is to confess and ask for forgiveness.  Jesus said,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9 KJV

It is an assurance that Jesus is faithful to forgive our sins.  If we wanted to look clean on the outside which is visible only to the human eye, how much more inside which is visible to God.

My Prayer

Dear Jesus please forgive me and grant me peace of mind and free me from sin.  Amen.
